Bucking the trend of smartwatches in tacky rubber casings and electronic screens, the original Swiss-made Activité from home tech and wearables brand Withings was released in June of last year, turning heads with its refined and elegant reinterpretation of the traditional activity tracker.
The idea behind the watch was an interesting one, as it gives you the functionality of a fitness tracker, while having the looks of a quality mechanical watch. While the original was priced at $450, the new Withings Activité Pop, which was introduced at CES 2015, now comes at a much more affordable $150 price tag.
The new watch comes in black, blue and beige, with a series of strap colors. Made of PVD-coated metal, water-resistant up to 30 meters, and with a battery life of eight months, the new Withings Activité Pop is not Swiss Made, which makes the new price tag only possible.
Just like its expensive brother, the watch invisibly tracks your sleep, your steps and your swimming, while telling the time like a regular mechanical watch. The watch connects to Withings’ Health Mate app to track everything. Look out for the launch of the watch at Best Buy, come January 5.
